PDX Report

By chance I ended up in Portland today, so as soon as I could get it together I headed over to Mississippi Records. If you've never been to/heard of this place it's serously one of the best record stores I've ever been to (and when I say "record" I mean record). They ONLY sell vinyl...and GOOD vinyl. Like every record they have is seriously good!!

It's one of those places where you can just feel your bank account draining when you walk in the door.
Here's a short list of what I escaped with: Miklos Rozsa: Two Classic Film Scores (Brute Force & The Naked City), Times Square: Original Motion Picture Soundtrack, Black Bands 1927-1934, Charles Mingus: Tijuana Moods, The Specials: More Specials.

All of the above on big beautiful vuluptuous black vinyl!!!

they sell tapes, too.
real tapes! and some 8 tracks.
they have started a label as well, only the choicest old 78s or obscure hits made into stellar compilations, and a few new lps of local musicians, priced super-reasonable. you can only find these gems at the shop itself or at Honest Jon's in england.
