subscribe now to get the next issue

Newsflash:
The new issue of ANPQuarterly is done! We are going to the printer today to proof it... which means that it will ship out as early as this tuesday 7/29... we would LOVE for you to have it!! ...but full disclosure—the copies that we are sending out into the world for free are going faster and faster, and we still can't send them everywhere, so if you would like to make sure that you get the magazine, please subscribe (the price is still very low to have this giant thing sent to your house 4 times a year), and if you would like this issue, please subscribe by this monday—all subscriptions after will rollover and start with the next issue, which won't drop until the fall... And this issue is really really exciting, but still a surprise...
Hope to see you soon!!

David Horvitz is spending the summer deep in the country, hidden away, heavy in studies, and I haven't spoken with him in what feels like an eternity. To be totally honest, I really miss him. In August he is in a three person show with Andy Warhol and Grant Worth which Joseph Whitt curated at the Vanderbilt University Fine Arts Gallery in Nashville, Tennessee—much much much more on the amazing Joseph Whitt in this place soon—the opening for which I will be performing at and which will hopefully serve as our end-of-the-summer reunion... unless he has to miss it because he is on tour with Xiu Xiu again (hey Xiu Xiu team, I miss you all, too) and doing this project that I'm linking to below and can't make it... oh!!! In advance of that hopeful reunion I am posting a link to David's newest project surrounding the tour... I know, a lot of circle talk, but the point is really just to set up this link (And the videos at the end are very worth it, fyi):

Candidly Covered

Last year I was doing a blog where I took a self-portrait everyday. I did it for quite a long time, then realized how hard it was (and lost my camera) and the blog died. Well fear not, our pal Jenna, (artist, impersario and member of Los Angeles supergroup Mika Miko) has taken the torch...and let me confess that in her first few weeks of posting she's pretty much killed everything I ever did in the "outfit blog" medium. Check it out HERE!

This is just a great interview.

Pitchfork doesn't need any links, and Ed Banger doesn't need any more fans, but
THIS really is just a great interview and I wanted to share it right away.

general

We really really appreciate anyone looking at this blog, and very very much appreciate any comments!
...That said, if you are going to comment, please sign your name, or even make a name up, especially if you are going to fully criticize or hate-out. We really readily invite and welcome any commentary, positive or otherwise, but it just makes you seem so shook to comment negatively AND anonymously... At least until we can figure out how to change the blogger coding so that instead of of the default saying "ANONYMOUS" it says "SCARED BROKEN TEENAGER—NOT THE INTERESTING/INSPIRING/COMPELLING KIND, BUT THE SHITTY KIND"

the real ANPQ shirt post

So, our publisher and kind parent company, RVCA, helped us make some shirts with some of our friends as sort of a very nice bakesale for the magazine. 4 artist shirts (Raymond Pettibon, Dash Snow, Chris Johanson/Jo Jackson, Ed Templton) and a logo t, they are all amazingly printed in a super detail/anti-"sweatpatch" way using what seems to be some kind of new printing method—check especially the detail on the Dash Snow and Chris Johanson/Jo Jackson shirts— on organic cotton cut and sew RVCA t shirts. Limited to 500 shirts each, they're only available at a few places worldwide (Colette in Paris/Beams in Tokyo/Someday, Australia) and in the RVCA webstore
... and will be gone... fast...
